Blackjack is the live table on TR8 where your own decisions matter most. You are not racing other players. You are trying to beat the dealer's hand, and you choose how to play yours. This guide explains the card values, your options on each hand, how a round runs and what to check before you take a seat.

The goal is simple: finish with a hand closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. If your total goes over 21, you "bust" and lose the round straight away, even if the dealer would have busted later.
| Card | Value |
|---|---|
| 2 to 10 | Face value |
| J, Q, K | 10 points |
| Ace | 1 or 11, whichever suits the hand better |
A hand that includes an ace counted as 11 is called a soft hand, because taking another card cannot bust it. For example, an ace and a 6 is a soft 17. If a card would push that hand over 21, the ace simply counts as 1 instead.
A natural blackjack is an ace plus a 10-value card as your first two cards. It is the strongest starting hand, and tables usually pay it better than a normal win. The exact payout can differ by table, so check the rules shown before you play.
| Option | What it means |
|---|---|
| Hit | Take one more card |
| Stand | Keep your hand as it is |
| Double | Double your bet, take exactly one more card, then stand |
| Split | Turn a pair into two separate hands, each with its own bet |
| Insurance | An optional side bet offered when the dealer shows an ace |
Hit and stand are available on every hand. Double, split and insurance are offered at many tables, but the exact conditions vary, so check the rules on the table you choose. Beginners can play perfectly well with hit and stand while they get comfortable.
You are dealt a 9 and a 7, which totals 16. The dealer shows a 6. You choose to hit and receive a 4, making 20, so you stand. The dealer reveals a 10 for a total of 16, and the fixed rules make the dealer draw again. The dealer gets a 5 and finishes on 21. The dealer's hand is closer to 21, so your bet loses even though 20 is a strong hand. That is normal in blackjack, and it is why no single round tells you much.
Many live blackjack tables seat several players at once. Everyone plays against the dealer, not against each other, and what other players decide does not change your own hand. If a table is full, you can often wait for a seat or pick another table.
