TR8 Baccarat Guide Malaysia: How to Play Live Baccarat for Beginners

Last updated: 2026

Baccarat is one of the simplest tables in the LIVE GAME tab on TR8. You never decide how to play a hand, because the cards are dealt by fixed rules. Your only choice is where to place your bet. This guide walks through how totals are counted, how a round runs and what to check before you sit down at a table.

The Basics of Baccarat

Two hands are dealt in every round: the Player hand and the Banker hand. These are just names for the two sides. You do not have to be the "player" or the "banker". You simply bet on which hand you think will finish closer to nine.

How Card Values Work

CardValue
Ace1 point
2 to 9Face value
10, J, Q, K0 points

Add up the cards in a hand and keep only the last digit. A total of 15 counts as 5, and a total of 20 counts as 0. The highest possible hand is 9.

Your Three Main Bets

BetYou win if
PlayerThe Player hand finishes closer to 9
BankerThe Banker hand finishes closer to 9
TieBoth hands finish with the same total

Payouts and any commission on a winning Banker bet can differ by studio and table, so read the rules shown on the table you choose. Many tables also offer side bets such as pairs. These are optional, and you can ignore them while you learn.

How One Round Runs

When a Third Card Is Drawn

You never have to memorise these rules, because the dealer applies them automatically. Knowing the outline just helps the round make sense.

A Simple Example Round

The Player hand receives a 7 and a 6, which totals 13 and counts as 3. The Banker hand receives a 4 and a 3, which totals 7. The Player hand has 3, so it draws a third card and gets a 2, making 5. The Banker hand has 7 and stands. The Banker finishes closer to 9, so a Banker bet wins and a Player bet loses.

Reading the Scoreboard

Most live baccarat tables show a scoreboard, often called a road map, which records the results of past rounds as coloured marks. Some players use it to follow how the table has been going.

Keep in mind that each round is dealt separately. The scoreboard is a record of what already happened, and it cannot tell you what the next round will be. Treat it as a way to follow the table, not as a prediction tool.

Choosing a Baccarat Table on TR8

Several studios in the LIVE GAME tab, including Dream Gaming, SA Gaming, AE Sexy and Big Gaming, run baccarat tables. The tables on offer can change, so open the tab to see what is available now. When you compare tables, look at:

FAQ About TR8 Baccarat

1. Is baccarat easy for beginners?

Yes. You do not play any hands yourself, because the dealer follows fixed drawing rules. Your only decision is which bet to place.

2. What does a total of 15 count as in baccarat?

Only the last digit counts, so 15 is worth 5. A total of 20 is worth 0.

3. Do I have to bet on the Player to be "the player"?

No. Player and Banker are only names for the two hands. You can bet on either one, or on a Tie.

4. Can the scoreboard tell me who will win the next round?

No. The scoreboard records past results only. Every round is dealt separately, so past results do not decide the next one.

5. Which baccarat table should I choose on TR8?

Choose a table whose betting limits fit your balance and whose screen is easy to read. Watch a few rounds first, and read the payout rules shown on the table.

6. Can I play baccarat on my phone?

Yes. TR8 works in your mobile browser, so there is nothing to download or install. A stable connection helps the live video run smoothly.
